El Tamarindo

The local sushi-store offers a variety of different flavors of fish. And drinks. Sushi comes from Japan, the drinks from all over the world.

A very good friend smuggled once some tamarind fruits from Venezuela and gave me some of them. The taste is somewhere between sour and acidic. But never both at the same time. I like tastes which change while you’re eating them. Tamarind does this a lot.

The difference between the fruit and the canned drink is, that you can actually eat the fruit. You will have a hard time with the drink, though. The taste of tamarind is followed by an impression best described as a furry carpet, rolling down your tongue. I made it half way through until I stopped.
