Some days¶
There are those days. Some of those days were it looks like the world has decided to turn against you.
Yesterday evening my PC decided it was about time to start the decent of it’s existence and finally giving me some hints that it’s about to die soon.
Yesterday. Right when I was in the middle of working with some images a white, vertical bar appeared on the left side of my screen.
The problem of the white bar seems to be quite common. But what really astonishes me is the timing:
It’s Easter. Everything is closed.
I need to work with images - of course the screen is failing.
The national trading website Finn is temporarily down. It came up during the day, but all sellers I’ve contacted naturally don’t reply. They’re probably on a trip or something.
It could have hardly been chosen a worse moment for this.
While going through several posts on the Internet I found a small comment
I too have the vertical band issue on my T410s 2904FPU (WIN7 32-bit). Looks like this could unfortunately be a systemic issue, seeing lots of posts on other forums about this as well. It comes up in the exact same place as others have indicated, one inch from the left…and you can get rid of it (sometimes) by pressing hard at the bottom of the screen.
The bottom of the screen? I pressed slightly at the bottom of the white bar - and it disappeared. Lucky me.
So far it didn’t come back either. I hope it stays that way until I’ve found a replacement…
