Restaurant: Gunsmoke

The picture to the right is in my to-do folder since the beginning of April. I wasn’t sure if I really should write about this place, but why should I only write about the positive places?

Gunsmoke is right on one side of Birkelunden and pretty close to the Nighthawk Diner. We went there with not quite high expectations, but the location and from the outside it seems like it wants to be an alternative to the Diner next door.

Unfortunately it couldn’t live up to the expectations.

Just to make it clear: this isn’t a positive review. But let’s start with some positive things: Gunsmoke isn’t as crowded as the Diner next door (I’m constantly comparing those two, because they are so close to each other anyway that it makes sense). It’s very easy to get a free table instantly. The waiter take your order also very quickly. But maybe they’re trying a bit too hard.

That’s where it stopped with being nice there. Though the Milk-shake was OK, only one of two dishes arrived. After something that felt like 20 min. When we asked about the other order the kitchen must have made a mistake. So it took another 10 minutes. Eating together simply wasn’t an option.

On the picture you can see the chicken burger with _salad_. I’m sorry, but that isn’t a salad. Just rather don’t name it on the menu at all.

The burger was alright, so were the fries. But all in all personally it was a one-time-experience, no need for a redo.

For the late serving we got 20% of the price off, which really couldn’t save the mood anymore.

There are other experiences as well. Maybe you’re one of the lucky ones? I think there are other places to eat. Places where I haven’t had a negative experience yet - they seem to be able to keep their standard of serving a bit higher.
