An DNS alias is a kind of surrogate for any existing domain name that usually only forwards to an existing FQDN. If I tell somebody we would like to setup CNAME for any FQDN, this means that I want an alias for an existing domain name. While almost everybody understands this request correctly, syntactically it is wrong. `CNAME` is an abbreviation for `Canonical Name`, which is basically the true name of a DNS entry. `Wikipedia `_ has a good explanation on it. What you want to say is: Can I have an alias for the CNAME, please?
