Bluetooth headsets¶
I listen to a lot of podcasts. Using a headphone is necessary for this. At least one or two telephones got problems on their 3.5mm jack due to the constant in and out-plugging. The material got tired and worn out.
For testing I switched to a bluetooth headset with a couple of hours of run-time. The MPOW Swift was the first one.
MPOW Swift¶
A good and reliable headphone. Very cheap and a long battery time of ~5 hours. No problems with the connection to my phone and easy handling.
The weak spot is the connection between the ear-plug and the ears-shell. That one is less than a centimeter wide and broke after a while. The two small wires inside did not survive this.
If this one would be sold here, I would by it again in a heartbeat. The feedback always comes with a female voice. It gives you a 5 min warning before running out of power.
Jaybird X2-M Sport¶
The replacement for the MPOW Swift. It promised 8 hours battery life time. I never made it up to this. A constant connection problem with the phone introduced jitter sounds that either skip half a second or make the audio not understandable.
A replacement headset behaved the same way and did not improve the sound quality. This headset got returned. The price was about ten times higher than the MPOW Swift.
It came in a nice box though, even when it is a bit big and clumsy and utterly useless to carry the headset around in it. The voice of the lady inside it is a bit euphoric and too motivational. But it is lacking this when not(!) giving you a warning about low power and just dying on you.
Urbanista Boston¶
The replacement for the Jaybird X2-M Sport. Less than half the price of the Jaybird headset. Battery lifetime is about four to five hours. There are no jitter sounds and easy handling as well.
I guess I will keep this one.
You get a small sack with it where you can store the headphone. Feedback comes by sounds, not voices.
I need to test out the Monster iSport Wireless Bluetooth headsets one day.
