Alarm clock

I have thrown out my telephone of the bedroom. Besides its function as an alarm clock, it only had negative effects.

Checking the latest RSS feeds, postings or whatever was isolating me.

There are other things you are supposed to do in bed than reading on your phone.

Unfortunately the last years have left me with a conditioning on a few sounds the trigger e.g. my wake-up. There is a collection of sounds I carry with me through the last years that make it on every phone so I do not have to get used to anything new. As long as it works for me, I do not really care.

So I came up with the August MB400B radio. Although it is not mentioned in the manual, it supports alarm sounds on USB or SD card on the back of the radio. For now this seems to be the cheapest possibility if you want an alarm clock with custom sounds. Unless you go full mental on an Arduino or Raspberry.
