Moddi/Set the house on fire¶
Since last October I was waiting for Moddi’s new Album to come out. This march it was finally publish - and I’ve totally forgotten about it. Well, that’s not such a nice story, is it? Let me try again.
Since last october I was waiting for Moddi’s new Album to come out. This march it was finally publish - and now I’ve finished listening to it. I knew I was about going to a concert of his in April, so I waited for buying the album from the store. You always get a chance of buying the album at the concert and in my world my idea is that more of the money actually gets to the artist then.
So: I was waiting to get a hand on his new CD. Actually, I’ve been a bit skeptical as well. When I’ve heard the first single earlier in January or February it was (I believe), this new song was so different to the songs on the previous album, that I couldn’t really get into it. But Moddi had a leap of faith from me and so i decided to just wait.
First thing after getting the CD home (he sold Vinyl as well!) is getting it into my PC and deploying it in my playing system. From there I started listening.
The this album is different. Today, after more than a week of repeated listening, I found this video on his website. He basically states, that the new album is supposed to be different. On purpose.
And this is what you get: Still Moddi. The album is different, no question about it. Bu the music is still his. It’s full of emotions and stories he wants to tell you. But while the first album was quite clearly signed by the sea-side up north, is the second one walking you through the forest and over the mountains. It tastes different. A bit more vivid maybe. It’s actually kind of hard to describe without listening to it.
