Bright Eyes/Cassadaga¶
The album Cassadaga from Bright Eyes is part of my monthly playlist since 2010, I think. This is almost three years now.
Since then I’ve of course forgotten why and where I found the American band ‘round Conor Oberst. But that nonetheless doesn’t make the music worse.
Basically, it’s from 2010, when the winter was strong, the snow deep and the temperature far below zero, when I was sitting at home, listening to music and enjoying a wide range of music I haven’t written about here yet. Bright Eyes is just a part of it.
The Song No one would riot for less is for me still one of the most emotional and strongest musical experiences of the last years. There’s just a couple of other songs I’d put into the same pick of music. Ever. Already the opening I consider epic. I could listening to it over and over again.
The Band, as a project, has been retired in the meantime. An album from 2011 has been the last publication so far. Nothing has followed. Let’s just hope it will pick up one day again…
