Cursing¶
So, the other day I was walking home, just jumping into one or two shops on the way and listening to random Podcasts on my player. Some of them are quite entertaining, some are serious, some I just check out for the first time. Some I don’t have a clue where they are coming from.
The one I’m talking about now, is from Norm Augustinus, a comedian (and much more, check out the link for a more detailed description), from Michigan. He was mentioned in another podcast specifically the episode I was listening to.
Just let me tell you this: I was laughin’ my head off. He’s telling this story (true or not) about him standing in his yard and talking on the phone while a kid is coming to him and asks if he could swear a bit less on the phone. That’s when he’s literally exploding. This might all been in the context of a performance or not, - hard to say - , but it’s hilarious.
So if you’d like to listen to some proper, English swearing, some serious ranting you should give it a chance and listen to the episode “jellyjars” from May 19th, 2006. Great stuff.
PS: I think I figured out how this file came to me. I must have downloaded it manually from a recommendation list from late 2010 and just forgot about it. On his website (offline by 2016) is more about it, so I’ll see if there’s more good stuff. As far as I’m listening to another one right now, this could just be from the comedy-category and therefore just entertaining. We’ll see.
PSS: I’ve listened to a couple of more episodes in the meantime and it seems that the one about the jellyjars is the funniest one. He’s mainly ranting about sexual intercourse and performing plain coursing. While entertaining in the beginning, this as a concept for more episodes gets repetitive and is not my cup of tea. It’s a pity, but I deleted this show from my podcast feed.
PSSS: In 2017 I got contacted from a relative of him. He seemed to have an accident in the meantime and stopped podcasting (not necessarily because of that). The relative was unhappy with the way I talked about Norm Augustinus. There might have been a misunderstanding and I rephrased parts of this post to emphasized, that I really enjoyed the episode I listened to, another one not so much and besides that have no other opinion about him. It might be worth considering that this is a private blog with -+ 5 visitors (if at all) and I mainly write this as my personal timeline. @Ann: let me know if you still dislike this post. Than we can exchange more emails.)
