And everything is coming back¶
I’ve got a problem. I’m getting to easily distracted. Very, very quick and that’s why I had to develop some procedures to remember myself to certain things. I’m not talking here about really serious mental disabilities. What I mean I putting things in the middle of the desk for the next morning so you will be reminded to take them with you and stuff them into your bag, before you leave the house. That sort of thing. One thing I haven’t sorted out, is how to deal with the city bikes, when you just have to leave them for a second. What happened? Well, on Tuesday I took one of those bikes, cycled down into the city, placed it beside a coffee-place where I went in to get something and when I came out about five minutes later: I’ve totally forgotten about the bike I was responsible for.
So I left the place without worrying about the bike, happily with my coffee in my hand. I remember even having thought about taking a bike to the next stop.
So the next day on my way to work I tried to rent another bike and I got the message from the bike station, that I’ve already took a bike and haven’t it delivered back. I couldn’t really remember that so I called the support and told them the story I was sure was true.
After that call I slowly started to remember that this must have happened in the evening and I even remembered where I left the bike.. of course it was already gone. I was wondering: should I be concerned about this? When the bike got stolen and the thief decided not to return it, I would have to pay about 1000 NOK for the bike. I decided not to. He might not have it delivered back yet, but hey: This is Norway, so things will sort themselves out (somehow).
And I was right. Today I got the message that my card has been blocked. No word about a non-returned bike. One call later I could use my card again.
Though I have no clue who took the bike and returned it back to one station: Thank you very much for doing so.
